Description
It is said of Abba Sisoes that at the end of his life, while laying upon his deathbed, his face shone like the sun, and it appeared as if he were speaking to some people.
Seeing this, his disciples asked him,
“Father, to whom are you speaking?” The old man told them that the angels had come to receive his soul, and that he had begged them to be given a little more time to repent.
“Geronda,” they said, “You have have no need for repentance.”
The great ascetic responded saying, “Truly, I do not know if I have even begun.”
