Matins (“Orthros” in Greek) is the Church’s morning service comprised largely of instructional hymnography about the life of the saint(s) and the particular commemoration for the day. Matins is the way that each day was always meant to begin. This is a “reader’s” service, which means that it won’t be served, but just read from the chanter’s stand. All are welcome.
